Roofing FAQ's

Q: Why Should I Go With Montgomery Winslow To Repair Or Replace My Roof Over A Different Company?

A: Here are a few reasons:

1. We require no upfront money. You don’t pay us until you’re 100% satisfied.

2. We’re the longest established roofing company in Southwest Florida—since 1949!

3. Our labor warranty is 10 years—twice the industry standard.

4. All of our installers are employees—not subcontractors. They truly care about the work they do.

Q: How Are Your Warranties?

A: We offer a one-year workmanship warranty on all repair work (unless otherwise stated) and a 10-year warranty on all roof replacements.

Q: What Are Your Workers Like?

A: All of our installers are EMPLOYEES, not subcontractors. Our employees are subject to drug tests and a background check. They are all certified and extremely knowledgeable about the roofing industry.

Q: Do You Ever Hire Day Laborers?

A: No, we never use day laborers; all of our employees are highly trained, skilled technicians, fully covered by our liability and worker’s comp insurance. If you hire a roofer who uses day laborers, you may find your homeowner’s insurance becoming their worker’s comp coverage if they have an accident while working on your property.

Q: How Long Does A Roofing Project Take To Complete?

A: For an average size home, a shingle roof usually takes us two or three days. A tile roof takes us about five days, depending on the weather and amount of carpentry replacement required. It takes us a little longer to install your roof than our competitors because we take our time to make sure we get the job done right.

Q: How Are Your Prices?

A: We’re in the middle to high-middle. It honestly depends on the project and your needs. We aren’t the cheapest… but according to our customers, we’re the best. Sure, you can find cheaper bids. But you get what you pay for. And if you’re paying pennies, expect that to show in the work.

Q: Do You Offer Free Estimates?

A: Yes. We do all estimates in-person to give you a 100% accurate quote. We don’t play guessing games with you. When we tell you how much it’s going to cost, that’s how much it’s going to cost. We prepare a professional estimate for you, in writing, specifically detailing what needs to be done, when it can be done and how much it will cost. If you’re interested in an estimate, pick up your phone and call us today at (239) 694-1056.

Q: Why Can’t You Just Give Me A Ballpark Estimate Without Coming Out And Looking At My Roof, If I Can Give You The Square Footage Of My Home?

A: We do not give out ballpark estimates; they are not fair to you or to us. We need to look at your roof to determine the pitch, condition of the decking, what product best serve your needs, and, most importantly, we want you to get to know us. Product is product… WE are what sets us apart from our competition. We want to meet with you and for you to get to know us as well.

Q: Why Can’t You Just Give Me The Estimate Over The Phone? Why Must I Meet With You In Person?

A: Our estimator has evaluated your roof and prepared an estimate specifically for your needs. He needs a few minutes of your time to go over all of the aspects of this estimate, including some of the reasons we feel we are the best choice for your reroofing project. There is a good reason we have been in business here since 1949 – that is our happy, repeat customers.

Q: Why Don’t You Require Money Upfront?

A: You trust us to install your roof, we trust you to pay us. It’s that simple. The fact is, many roofing companies that require a deposit are using the money you spend upfront to pay for the bills they incurred during their last job. We, on the other hand, are a stable company that doesn’t need you to foot our bills. You pay us only when you’re fully satisfied with our work.

Q: Do You Accept Credit Cards?

A: Yes, we accept Visa and MasterCard.

Q: How Is My Home Protected While My Roof Is Off?

A: All of your windows, doors, and landscaping are protected while we’re doing the job. We spread tarps wherever loose debris might fall. We also perform a complete cleanup after we install your roof, leaving the job site spotless.

Q: Is Your Company Owner The License Holder?

A: Yes, John Woolston is the owner of Montgomery Winslow Roofing and he is the license holder and qualifier for our company. We do not “lease” someone else’s license. John also checks on each job personally to make sure everything is going smoothly.
