I always say I was born into the roofing business. You see, my father was a roofer in Western New York and that’s where I first learned the ins and outs of the roofing business. Starting from the time I was a small kid, I’d ride with my dad to job sites and watch as he nailed in shingles, talked to customers, and guided his crews.
I loved everything about roofing and quickly wanted to learn all there was to know. When I turned 16, my dad even started paying me to work for him…and I was off to the races. Over 40 years later, I’m still doing what I love – providing excellent roofing to customers I care about.
Now, I’m so excited to pass the torch to my son, Brad…because, like me, he was born into the roofing business. Just like how I learned quality roofing from my father, Brad has learned from me. And I have no doubt our legacy of excellent roofing done right the first time will live on for decades to come.

Montgomery Winslow Roofing: A (Very) Brief History
1949 – 1990
This history of Montgomery Winslow Roofing is a long one…75 years to be exact. Starting in 1949 as Montgomery Roofing Inc. by Haywood and Katie Montgomery, their daughter Sandra joined the company in 1956.
Once Haywood and Katie retired in 1960 and Sandra had married Paul Winslow, Sandra and Paul merged names to become Montgomery Winslow Roofing. Together, Sandra and Paul worked side-by-side until 1990, when they retired and John bought the company.
1990 – Present
As the years passed, John expanded the modest family-owned company, adding new roofing materials like metal and tile into the mix. Today, Montgomery Winslow Roofing specializes in residential and commercial roofing, including residential roof replacement, residential roof repair, and residential new construction.
On the commercial side, we excel in commercial roof replacement, commercial roof repair, and commercial new construction. And with our 75 years of continuous roofing service, we can offer you dependable, heavy-duty products, no-cutting-corners installations, and professional customer service.
